On June the 5th we waved goodbye to our latest cohort of lip-reading students. Over the last 6 weeks they have been introduced to the notion of visible and hidden consonants, had their memory and recall tested, acquired a range of tools to combat tricky communication environments and forged friendships whilst having fun in the process.
One of the students had this to say:
“Thank you so much for bringing us this course to enable us to be more confident in social and work situations. It has been hard work but you managed to bring fun and interaction and role-play into the sessions so they flew by. We will spread the word on your excellent company and courses and wish you every success for the future”
We hope to apply for funding for the next academic year and hope that we can extend the sessions to more people who have an acquired hearing loss.
